Today, Las Cruces Public Schools hosted Dr. Arsenio Romero, the State Secretary of Education, for a special walkthrough at Doña Ana Elementary School.
The visit provided a unique opportunity for Dr. Romero to witness the firsthand impact of tutoring initiatives in the district that served as his educational home for 15 years.

Next month, Best Buy Drugs/ Rx Innovations will be providing free Flu and COVID immunizations for LCPS staff on November 1 and 2 from 11 am- 6pm. in the Operations Office at the LCPS Administration Building.

Doña Ana Elementary Parents,
Earlier today, an unknown threat was made toward our school. We promptly notified law enforcement and evacuated all students and staff. We are currently at the Doña Ana baseball field next to campus so students can have access to water and restroom facilities at the Doña Ana fire station. In all, we had 75 students participating in extended learning time during our scheduled intersession, along with 17 adults. All students and staff are safe.
Students have had lunch, and dismissal will be at the ball fields. Buses will run on regular schedule and will also pick up students at the ball field, 615 E. Doña Ana School Road.
The Doña Ana Arts Council congratulates Joseph Flores who will receive the Council’s “Papen Family Award” at the Council’s annual “Community Arts Awards.” The “Papen Family Award” honors an individual who has demonstrated exemplary commitment to the arts through leadership, service, and/or financial support. This award recognizes Joseph Flores’ dedication to and support of our community’s youth as Coordinator for Teaching and Learning, Fine Arts, Las Cruces Public Schools.
The award will be presented at this year’s celebration on Sunday, October 8, from 5 PM to 8 PM, at The Hood, located at 3206 Harrelson Street.

Dear parents and guardians, all school at LCPS have gone into a shelter-in-place due to lightning detected within 10 miles of our schools. Upon the occurrence of lightning at dismissal time, students who drive may be released based on principal’s discretion.
All bus riders and walkers will be sheltered until the area is deemed safe.
If you are picking up your child while a school is sheltering in place due to weather, you may do so at your own risk. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Tonight will be the first football game at the new and improved Field of Dreams. The stadium includes a new videoboard that will give us a closer look at the action on the field.
Teams will be playing on new artificial turf featuring logos from each high school at LCPS.
A new track will be installed next!
